RELIEF REFUGE SUPPORT WORKER
AS AND WHEN REQUIRED CONTRACT
The primary purpose of the relief post is to provide cover for annual
leave, sick leave and training days for permanent staff with
responsibility for supporting women and children who have experienced
domestic abuse/coercive control. Relief work may include days,
evenings, nights and weekends dependant on the needs of the service.
The work will involve working as part of a team to provide a range of
services to residents, e.g. key working, support planning and
advocacy.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
ESSENTIAL:
* Third level qualification and/or two years’ experience of working
directly with women and children experiencing Domestic Abuse/Coercive
Control
* A commitment to professional development.
* Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent IT skills
* Empathetic attitude towards the needs of women and children
impacted by domestic abuse/coercive control.
* Experience of working co-operatively with other services and
relationship building.
* Experience assessing risk with women and safety planning.
* Commitment to work as part of a team.
* Ability to work on their own, and to seek support and guidance
when needed.
* Access to transport and full driving licence
DESIRABLE:
* Experience of Advocating on behalf of women.
